Benvenuti alla bocca dell'inferno

In a world today that seems to be turning itself upside down, I find myself discontent in silence.

The absence of sound, of words, of voice.

A crushing nothingness where everyone around you moves with eyes cast down. A mass. An empty sea of faces, rushing to the crushing shores of someone else's opinion. A man of religion, his cloth soaked in holy water, preaching out about the death of children being the punishment of God for one man's love of another. A politician promising reprieve from a broken economy with a silver tongue and endlessly deepening pockets. A failing system of education pumping out an endless number of mindless automatons that clearly lack an opinion of their own. No voice. No words. No sound.

I am just one girl.

Raised to be an automaton - "children should be seen, not heard" - "keep your opinion to yourself" - "don't make waves" - "go learn enough math to be able to count money so you can work in the casinos honey, cause you ain't never gonna be more than what we say you are".

FUCK YOU!

I am just one girl.
Dedicated to the written word.  My own language an awkward blend of philosophical euphemisms, psychological interpretations, pop-culture metaphors, and double entendres. In other words - my language is my own. I am an original born in a world where originality is slowly being bred out of existence. And I will not stand by and watch the fall of creativity. I will not lie in silence, my voice bound, gagged, smothered by insecurity. I am not afraid to stand up, to stand out - to be hated for my voice.

AT LEAST I HAVE A VOICE!

And here is where I choose to share it.
I don't know if anyone is going to read this, or if any of the ones who do will even care, but I have something to say. And I will abide silence no longer. So, prepare to let loose your hounds of judgement, for tonight I stand upon the edge - the precipice of damnation - and my scream will be heard around the world.

Welcome to the mouth of hell

  1. Let the words soak into the pores of your brain. So you may be washed clean of your apathy, inequity, and commonality.

  2. Let your mind awaken, and your ears listen for that scream. The one that'll help you find your own voice.

  4. You got some good comments here. Mine won't be as good I am sure. We all know you have something to say. Very poetic here. Nice stay. Looking forward to seeing where you take this.
